The drawstring is a little stiff as casing quite tight

compared to dress

and I finally managed to find some old stock in the Czech Republic to replace it like for like - since then I’ve just had it on a form to look at

and to my surprise the aforementioned dress was hanging on the rail

Vintage 1930s floral crepe two piece blouse and skirt - asymmetric ruffle peplum Mondrian underarm to cuff 8”A really rather charming two piece set, in printed floral crpe. The blouse or jacket has 3 4 length shaped sleeves, shaping at the elbow crease, and with slightly puffed sleeve heads. There is an asymmetric ruffled peplum to the front, and it fastens crossover style, with two original covered fabric buttons at front waist. The skirt is fitted with a Petersham band internally and fastening to the side with snaps. It has two vertical seams to the front,
